Goldleaf Wallpaper

This wallpaper, dating from the late nineteenth century, could be seen on the wall behind the Royal Circle. The handpainted, embossed wallpaper in Chinese gold leaf was appropriate for an upper-class establishment and a specimen has been kept by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
