Postcard of 1904

Postcard of 1904

The show on the billboard is 'The Flood Tide', by Mr C. Lubbock's Theatre Company, being performed at the Theatre Royal during the week of 19th September 1904. The importance of the Theatre Royal as a central landmark in the High Street is reflected in postcards such as this one by Naylar's of Rochester. The gentleman looks on in admiration of the building and its place of prominence in the townscape.
