About www.historiae.co.uk

Graham WhiteThis site is hosted and edited by Graham White, a Medieval Studies student currently studying for an MA in Medieval Studies at University of York.

“I have a special interest in ecclesiastical architecture and monastic buildings, especially where they influenced the form of the medieval town. My History BA dissertation was a study of the topographical impact the orders of friars and their constructional achievements in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. I was awarded a BA (Hons) First Class at the University of Kent at Canterbury in 2006.

While having thoroughly enjoyed researching for essay papers I submitted for my degree, I also wanted to explore a wider range of topics in the historical realm in order to broaden my knowledge.

I hope this web site will develop into a ‘Medieval Miscellany’ and that it will eventually contain articles resulting from my personal research. For the purposes of this web site, the scope of the Medieval period is roughly defined as the time of the collapse of the Roman Empire to the late sixteenth century.

If you would like to contribute material to this web site or have recently experienced something historical you want to tell the world about, please send in your words and pictures and they will be considered for publication in the journal pages. I would also welcome any comments or suggestions about the site itself.”
